A: Not long! As you can see from the online
demo here at ConfiDent2.com, the software is extremely easy
to use and can be mastered quickly. The software walks you through
the setup process using a simple graphical interface.

Does ConfiDent2 do both Vickers and Knoop measurement?
A: Yes.

What about Brinell?
A: ConfiDent2 will use the ASTM hardness chart to convert to Brinell.

How are the measurements made?
A: Measurement is performed by placing the computer-generated filar
lines precisely at the ends of the selected indentation. A special
zoom window aids in precise line placement.
Q:
How can I be sure that my system stays calibrated?
A: ConfiDent2 allows you to password protect the calibration function
so that unauthorized users cannot recalibrate the system. ConfiDent2
also maintains a log that tracks each time the system is calibrated.
Q:
After the measurement is made, what happens to the data?
A: The data is converted and displayed as HRC/HRB (and one additional
selectable scale) and can then be viewed, analyzed, printed, saved
or exported to a spreadsheet. You may also place the data in a Microsoft Excel® Template.

How can ConfiDent2 save me time?
A: First, ConfiDent2 allows you to measure on a "live image".
This really improves workflow as you move quickly from one impression
to the next. Plus, ConfiDent2 lets you save your settings (such
as tester type, objective, load, method, material) as well as pre-configured
coordinate settings for case depth or other required traverses.
These can be rapidly recalled for fast processing.

What Hardness conversions can I do?
A: The ConfiDent2 software will convert to HV, HK, Rockwell, Brinell
and more.

What is displayed in the standard spreadsheet report?
A: Measurement stats including minimum, maximum, average, RSD, count
and more.

What data can be included in the standard report generated by ConfiDent2?
A: User defined report fields, your company logo, case depth chart,
and images of all or selected measurements. If you have Microsoft
Excel®, You can also easily build
your own custom templates and use the free ConfiDent
reporting module.
Q:
Can I use my existing computer to run ConfiDent2, or do I need to
buy a new computer?
A: ConfiDent2 is available as turnkey workstation in a computer,
or as a "board-level" product. The board-level product
(part number 862-341) can easily be installed in your existing computer
- and that can save a lot of money!

Do I need to purchase a camera or a capture board to use with ConfiDent2?
A: All ConfiDent2 kits include a high-resolution CCD video camera
and a state-of-the-art capture board.

If I order ConfiDent2 as a computer workstation, what kind of computer
will I get?
A: We deliver all ConfiDent2 units preinstalled and pre-tested
in high quality Dell computers. Current specs include a Pentium
4 processor
with 128MB RAM and Windows XP.

A: ConfiDent2 runs on Win 95, 98, NT, 2000 or XP.
