Q: How long does it take to learn how to operate ConfiDent2?
A: Not long! As you can see from the online demo here at ConfiDent2.com, the software is extremely easy to use and can be mastered quickly. The software walks you through the setup process using a simple graphical interface.

Q: Does ConfiDent2 do both Vickers and Knoop measurement?
A: Yes.

Q: What about Brinell?
A: ConfiDent2 will use the ASTM hardness chart to convert to Brinell.

Q: How are the measurements made?
A: Measurement is performed by placing the computer-generated filar lines precisely at the ends of the selected indentation. A special zoom window aids in precise line placement.

Q: How can I be sure that my system stays calibrated?
A: ConfiDent2 allows you to password protect the calibration function so that unauthorized users cannot recalibrate the system. ConfiDent2 also maintains a log that tracks each time the system is calibrated.

Q: After the measurement is made, what happens to the data?
A: The data is converted and displayed as HRC/HRB (and one additional selectable scale) and can then be viewed, analyzed, printed, saved or exported to a spreadsheet. You may also place the data in a Microsoft Excel® Template.

Q: How can ConfiDent2 save me time?
A: First, ConfiDent2 allows you to measure on a "live image". This really improves workflow as you move quickly from one impression to the next. Plus, ConfiDent2 lets you save your settings (such as tester type, objective, load, method, material) as well as pre-configured coordinate settings for case depth or other required traverses. These can be rapidly recalled for fast processing.

Q: What Hardness conversions can I do?
A: The ConfiDent2 software will convert to HV, HK, Rockwell, Brinell and more.

Q: What is displayed in the standard spreadsheet report?
A: Measurement stats including minimum, maximum, average, RSD, count and more.

Q: What data can be included in the standard report generated by ConfiDent2?
A: User defined report fields, your company logo, case depth chart, and images of all or selected measurements. If you have Microsoft Excel®, You can also easily build your own custom templates and use the free ConfiDent reporting module.
